Guardian Digital Studios is an independent software studio based in Kensington, Maryland. We design and build applications for people who play games — the tools that sit alongside a hobby and carry the parts of it worth keeping track of.
Our work starts from experience. Every product begins with a problem we have run into ourselves, so we know what the software has to get right before a line of it is written. That focus is deliberate: our applications do one job thoroughly rather than several of them loosely.
Commander Index is our flagship release, built for Magic: The Gathering Commander playgroups and free to everyone who uses it. It sets the standard we hold the rest of our work to.
Commander Index grew out of our own playgroup. We build the software we rely on, which is why it holds up in use.
Every feature in Commander Index is available to everyone at no cost. Supporters remove the ads and unlock cosmetic options, and nothing functional sits behind a payment.
We commit fully to each product rather than spreading our attention across many. Every release is something we stand behind.
