Guardian Digital Studios is an independent studio in Kensington, Maryland. Today that means Commander Index, a companion app for Magic: The Gathering playgroups, coming soon to iOS and Android. A game of our own is in early development.

We build companion software for games people already play, and we are making a game of our own.
Commander Index is the first: an app for Magic: The Gathering Commander playgroups that scores how strong a deck is, records who won, and keeps the table's life totals. It came out of an argument our own playgroup kept having, and it is coming to iOS and Android.
We started with a companion because the answers come back fast. People are already playing, they already know what is annoying about it, and you learn inside a week whether you built the right thing.
The game is in early development. We will show it when there is something to play.
We use what we build
Commander Index started as an argument at our own table about how strong a deck was. Every feature since has come from playing with it.
Free, in full
Every feature is free. Supporters remove the ads and unlock cosmetic extras: themes, colours, a badge. Nothing functional sits behind a payment.
No tracking
Our ads are not personalised. Nothing follows you between apps, and nothing about the decks you build or the games you play is used to choose what you are shown.
