Guardian Digital Studios is an independent studio in Kensington, Maryland. Today that means Commander Index, a companion app for Magic: The Gathering playgroups, free on iOS and Android. A game of our own is in early development.

Guardian Digital Studios is an independent studio in Kensington, Maryland. We make games, and we make the software that sits alongside the games people already play.
The companion apps came first, and deliberately. A companion is a whole problem at a small scale — people are already playing, they already know what is annoying, and you find out inside a week whether you built the right thing. Staying independent is what lets us choose that order, with no outside roadmap and no feature added because someone else needed it there.
A game of our own is in early development. We would rather not describe it before it exists, so there is nothing to show yet. It is where the studio is going, and the standard we hold it to is the one Commander Index set.
Built from experience
Every product starts with a problem we have run into ourselves. We build the software we rely on, which is why it holds up in use.
Free, in full
Our apps are free and fully featured. Supporters remove the ads and unlock cosmetic options, and nothing functional sits behind a payment.
Finished, not announced
We would rather show you something working than a trailer for something that is not. Nothing gets a name here until it exists.
